On November 1, 2024, Provost Douglas Philand officially opened Cnoc Mor Place, a new affordable housing development in Lochgilphead, Argyll & Bute, delivered by Fyne Homes Ltd. Built by MacLeod Construction Ltd, this new development brings high quality, sustainable housing to the community, offering much-needed affordable accommodation for local families.

The development includes six spacious, 3-bedroom semi-detached houses, designed to meet the demands of modern living while offering comfort and energy efficiency. The project, completed in October 2024, was made possible through funding from Fyne Homes, the Scottish Government, and Argyll & Bute Council, with a total investment of £1,38M.

This development highlights the impact of strong partnerships in addressing housing needs and supporting community growth.

The turfing and fencing works are complete along with the tarring works at the front of the Development. EPC's have been carried out for the properties and the internal deceoration is complete, snagging has commenced at all plots.

The kerb log for the access road and parking bays is complete and the kerbs are being set in place, and the paving works are progressing. The main access area is being prepared for tarring. Plumbing and electrical second fix is complete and the sprinkler system and commissioning has to be carried out. The heating systems have been installed and internal decoration is generally complete.

Fencing works are progressing to the garden areas with the posts now installed. Fire Sprinkler Scotland have been onsite, the spriklers have been installed and commissioned at all plots. The heating system is now operational and the final finishes on the interal decoration is progressing.

The kerb log for the access road and parking bays is progressing. The paving works are progressing to the front and rear of the buildings. The sprikler tank has been installed and the water pipe network from the tank to the houses is progressing. The electric meter has been installed to the sprinkler pump house. Plumbing and electrical second fix is progressing at all plots and internal decoration is generally complete.

The surface water drainage works to the rear of the houses are complete. Works continue to install the surface water section that runs along the side of plot 6. Plumbing and electrical fix is progressing at all plots, kitchen istallation is complete at plots 1,2,3 &4 and internal doors, skirting's and facings have been installed at plots 3,4,5 & 6. The Sprinkler system at plots 5 & 6 have been tested and the painter is progressing with the final coats of paint at plots 5 & 6.

The surface water drainage works to the rear of the houses is nearing completion. Plumbing and electrical second fix is progressing at all plots. The painter has applied a mist coat, the internal doors, skirtings and facings have been installed and the sprinkler system has been tested at plots 5 & 6.

Plots 1 & 2 first fix is progressing and plasterboard sheeting has commenced. The internal staircase has been installed and the blockwork is complete. Roughcasting is underway. Plots 3 & 4 roughcasting is complete and the scaffolding has been dropped, internal first fix installations are complete and taping and filling is progressing. Kitchen installation has started in plot 4. Plots 5 & 6 roughcasting is complete and scaffolding dropped, internal second fix electrical has commences and taping and filling is complete. Painter has applied mist coat and kitchens have been installed. Sanitary ware installation is progressing and internal doors, skirtings and facings have been installed in plot 5.

Plots 1 & 2 roof tiling is complete, first fix is progressing and the sprinkler system first fix is complete. Blockwork is progressing and has reached first floor level. Plots 3 & 4 roughcasting is complete, internal first fix installations are progressing and plasterboard sheeting is progressing with taping/filling commenced. The internal stair case has been installed. Plots 5 & 6 roughcasting is complete along with the internal first fix installations and plasterboard sheeting. Taping and filling is progressing and the external doors have been installed along with the internal staircase.

The sole plate has been installed at Plots 1 & 2 and the wall panels are progressing at plot 2. First fix is progressing in Plots 5 & 6. The roof battens have been installed at Plots 3 & 4 and counter battend and fire seperation will be complete next week to enable tiling to commence. The sprinkler system installers have run pipework through Plots 3, 4, 5 & 6. The timber kit is complete at Plots 1 & 2 and the roof is progressing with the trusses and underlay installed and battens progressing. The roof tiling has commenced at Plots 3 & 4 and the windows have been installed. The blockwork completed at Plots 5 & 6 and is ready to commence at Plots 3 & 4.

The joiners are progressing the insulation installation internally at 5 & 6. The ground floor wall panels of the kit have been installed at plots 3 & 4 and the scaffolding is being raised to accomodate kit completion. The floor slab has been formed at Plots 1 & 2 . The roof sarking has been installed at Plots 3 & 4 and the felt is progressing. The windows have been installed at plots 3 & 4. The blockwork is progressing at Plots 5 & 6 and first fix plumbing and electrical is also progressing.

Plot 5 & 6 roof trusses have been installed and battens have been installed in preperation for tiling, The substructure upfill and drainage works are complete at plots 3 & 4 and the gas membrane has been installed. The steelwork is progressing and the floor slab will be poured on Friday 15th December. The substructure blockwork is complete at plots 1 & 2. The roof tiling has commenced at plots 5 & 6. The windows have been installed at plots 5 &6. The floor slab at plots 3 & 4 has been formed and the sole plate has been installed. The wall panels at plot 4 have commenced.

The foundations have been poured at Plots 1 & 2 which completes the six foundations. The substructure blockwork is nearing completion at Plots 3, 4, 5 & 6 and the weak mix cpncrete fill has been installed to cavity. The floor slab has been formed at Plots 5 & 6 and the kit erection has commenced. The scaffolding is going up around plots 5 & 6. The bricklayers are on site this week progressing with blockwork at plots 1 & 2, however progress has hampered by freezing conditions.

The foundations for plots 3 & 4 and 5 & 6 have been set out and the groundworks subcontractor has installed the shutering for the foundation at plots 5 & 6. Digger work is taking place at plots 1 & 2 to reduce the levels slightly.

The excavation work is complete. The stone infill is progressing with tippers running to the site throuout the day. The Roller is being used to compact the stone infill within the excavation.
