Dogs Trust Community Events
February and March 2019 saw Fyne Homes once again work with The Dogs Trust to provide Fyne Homes tenants pet dogs and members of the public pet dogs FREE advice on caring for their dogs, FREE dog health checks and FREE microchipping for those dogs not already chipped. A change in legislation has now made microchipping of dogs a legal requirement.
The events attracted at total of 78 dogs of which 13 were microchipped.
This is the 3rd group of sessions we have held over the past 18 months. The events in total have seen over 230 dogs and of that number 85 have received a FREE Microchip.
With the cost of a microchip between £25 - £40 and laws in place that can now fine dog owners £500 for not having their dog microchipped, the potential savings to the community has been over £45,000.
Thank you to those that hosted the events: South Kintyre Development Trust (former Red Cross Hall), Lochgilphead Parish Church Hall and The Burgh Hall, Dunoon.
Thank you to the Dogs Trust Team, who as always were fantastic and thank you to the staff that helped out at the events.
It is hoped that The Dogs Trust will return in the autumn, so keep an eye out for details.
