Our Vision and Values

Fyne Homes aims to be the landlord of choice in Argyll and Bute.

  • We aim to tailor our services to provide appropriate, reliable, accessible housing and support.
  • We respect our customers, staff and committee and approach our business activities with openness and integrity
  • By engaging with our tenants and stakeholders we are able to continuously improve our services to meet local needs
  • Through our best value approach we aim to ensure our housing costs are affordable, managing resources effectively to maintain and improve our homes to the highest standards.

Our Strategic Priorities

Meeting Housing Need  

  • Invest  in our properties through our programme of capital, cyclical and reactive maintenance  
  • Provide high quality new build properties in response to strategic housing priorities.  
  • Invest in energy efficiency measures in new and existing housing to address fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions  
  • Provide adaptations to enable tenants to remain in their homes when circumstances change

Meeting the needs and aspirations of our customers  

  • Identify and respond to aspirations and needs of tenants through effective engagement  
  • Ensure tenant satisfaction and effective handling  
  • Provide support to assist tenants to deal with the impact of Welfare Reform  
  • Ensure staff and committee have the skills, experience and abilities to meet the changing needs, issues and aspirations of customers  
  • Deliver support for social inclusion, employability and skills development opportunities in the wider community

Ensuring Value for Money 

  • Maintain affordable pricing structure for rents which provide adequate resources to deliver quality services and housing improvements 
  • Minimise void properties and mitigate against the negative impact of welfare reforms  
  • Maximise efficiency to provide value for money for our tenants and stakeholders 
  • Ensure high quality and affordability through effective procurement

FAIR WORK FIRST

Fyne Homes Ltd is committed to the principles of the Scottish Government’s Fair Work First. Fyne Homes believes that central to achieving its ambitions are the capacity, capability and engagement of its workforce. Therefore, the HR Strategy and People Plan includes an inherent commitment to develop staff, build capacity and give individuals the necessary support to deliver the Association’s strategic priorities to help build sustainable communities.
These commitments include, but are not limited to.

  • Developing Staff Communication and Engagement
  • Providing Excellent HR Support and Services

In practice this means that.

  • All our team members have numerous channels to voice their views, any issues or suggest options and ideas, both informally at team meetings and one to ones and also through the Staff Forum consisting of representatives from each department. The CEO, Directors and managers and team leaders have an open door policy and are accessible to all employees. There are regular all employee away days bi-annually and Staff Satisfaction Surveys usually every 2 years
  • Learning and development is a key area of investment for Fyne Homes. There is an established Performance and Development Review process with regular one to one review meetings focusing on performance and development. There is a training plan reviewed bi-annually by our Staffing Committee detailing how the budget is invested.
  • We do not use zero-hour contracts anywhere in our business.
  • We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity and diversity in our roles as a housing provider and landlord, as an employer and in all areas of our business. Our Equality and Diversity Policy is central to organisational governance and its objectives are applied to all organisational services.

  • Fyne Homes offers a range of flexible, hybrid and family friendly policies which are available to all our staff from the first day they join our team.
  • Fyne Homes has not used and does not advocate the use of fire and re-hire practices.
