About Us

Fyne Homes Ltd is a Charitable Registered Social Landlord. It was orginally formed as Isle of Bute Housing Association in 1979, although we can trace our roots back to 1961 via William Woodhouse Strain Housing Association. Over the years we have increased in size and expanded our area of operation to include Bute, Cowal, Mid Argyll and Kintyre. We now mange in excess of 1900 properties.

8-15 Shore RoadWilliam Woodhouse Housing Association was the 1st RSL in Argyll & Bute & was registered in 1961. William Woodhouse, bequeathed land & buildings at Port Bannatyne in trust to Bute County Council due to the concern at the plight of farm workers who were dependent on tied housing. As times moved on these house were demolished & the newly formed WWS built 8 flats on the site at Shore Road & merged with Fyne Homes in 2002.
6-8 Columshill PlaceIsle of Bute Housing Association was formed in 1979 following the publication of Argyll & Bute Councils housing condition survey which showed a large proportion of houses within Rothesay failed the tolerable standard. Columshill Street was the first area identified and the 1st five properties at Columshill Place were completed in 1981.
Head Office, Isle of ButeIn 2002, Isle 0f Bute Housing Association merged with William Woodhouse Strain, changing its name to Fyne Homes and becoming a registered charity.
